Betty Jo Spicer, 82, of Quinlan passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Lamesa to her parents, John Brown Carter Sr. and Wawessa Lindsey Carter.

She worked for many years with the Quinlan Independent School District. She was a resident of Quinlan for 41 years.

She is preceded in her death by her husband, Ramon Spicer Sr.; her parents, John and Wawessa Carter; and a sister, Bonnie Broughton.

Her family that is cherishing the memories of her life are her daughter, Jeannie Nipp; three sons, Ramon Dawson Spicer, Jr., Roger Dale Spicer, Sr., and Randy Spicer, Sr.; five brothers, John Brown Carter, Jr., Conrad Carter, Robert Carter, Leslie Carter, and Charlie Carter; two sisters Barbara McCamish and Carol Pruitt; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Her funeral service was held March 3, 2017 at the Chapel of Quinlan Funeral Home with Brother David Hammond officiating. Interment followed the service in Lakeside Memorial Park in Quinlan.
