Panthers in fifth place at Webb Hill golf tourney

The Quinlan Ford Panthers golf team took fifth place Monday at the Webb Hill Golf Tournament, according to Coach Jim Coker.

A total of 16 teams competed.

The Panthers had a team score of 381 for the placing, behind Leonard in first place with a score of 345; Van Alstyne, second, 351; Bland, third, 357; and Cooper, 369.

In sixth place was North Hopkins, 391; Celeste, seventh, 392; Wolfe City, eighth, 406; Commerce, ninth, 411; Tom Bean, 10th, 414; Blue Ridge, 11th, 429; Boles, 12th, 433; Honey Grove, 13th, 436; Chisum, 14th, 443; Caddo Mills, 15th, 471; and Wolfe City B, 484.

Panther David Welch scored in the tournament’s top 10 individuals with a score of 87.

Welch led the Quinlan team, followed by Chandler Dunman, 92; Cason Lane, 99; Logan Lindsey, 103; and Kolby McKenzie.

Medalist players were Sam Hughes, 97; and Hunter Wilson, 119.

The next golf tournament will be at Sulphur Springs Country Club on Monday, March 20.
