QISD martial arts competes at Daingerfield

The Quinlan Independent School District Panther Martial Arts students competed Saturday in the Daingerfield Karate Tournament.

Quinlan ISD took 17 students from first grade through high school to take part in the karate tournament, the third competition this year.

“The students from Quinlan ISD have been very competitive in each tournament they have competed in this school year,” said Tiffony Upchurch, Quinlan ISD Director of School Community Relations.

Quinlan students earned over 35 first-, second- or third-place medals from the Dangerfield tournament.

They competed in open hand forms, weapon forms, Chambarra and sparring events.

Those who competed were Destiny Agy, Piper Jackson, Sirmarcqous Napier, Hayden Brister, Ryann McKinney, Christopher McDaniel, Jeremya Daniels, Skyler Tripp, Ethan Oliver, Darryll Rollins, Tanner Oliver, Keith Jackson, Tyler Roton, Rayhan Haider, Forrest Hickey, Erin Wischoff and Jonathan Daniels.
