The West Tawakoni City Council made progress Tuesday night at a workshop meeting on its annual task of budget preparation for the next fiscal year.

The workshop was one of three or four to be held this week and next. Additional meetings were expected to be held Thursday night as well as Tuesday and Thursday nights next week, all beginning at 6.

Keep West Tawakoni Beautiful’s (KWTB) proposed budget was presented by Mary Hall. Park Board Chairwoman Tomi Shoemake gave details of her group’s proposed finances, and Councilwoman Linda Kattner reviewed the proposed budget for West Tawakoni Economic Development Corporation (WTEDC) of which she is also a member.

Chief of Police Brandon Kilpatrick reported on his department’s budget and received consensus approval from the council for expansion of its service. Code Enforcement Officer Kyle Harrison presented his department’s proposed finances.
