Panther Band attends Dallas Winds concert

The W.H. Ford High School Panther Band attended the Dallas Winds concert on Tuesday evening, April 17, at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in downtown Dallas, according to Quinlan ISD Director of Fine Arts and Director of Bands Marty Filip.

The concert was titled “Pipes and Drums” and featured the Epoch Percussion Quartet performing Dinuk Wijeratne's percussion concerto “Invisible Cities.”

Filp said during the second half of the concert, the students witnessed the world premiere of Andrew Boss's Symphony for Organ and Wind Ensemble featuring the Meyerson's magnificent Lay Family Concert Organ.

“We would like to thank the Quinlan Band Booster Association for paying for all of the tickets, so the students could attend the concert for free. We are blessed to have such a great support network of band parents that are willing to underwrite the expense of an event like this. The Panther Band students thoroughly enjoyed the performance and represented Panther Nation beautifully. They were true ladies and gentlemen the entire evening,” Filip said.
