Keep West Tawakoni Beautiful announces dumpster opening

The City of West Tawakoni and volunteers from Keep West Tawakoni Beautiful are teaming up for the last time this year to allow the city’s water service customers to dispose of bulky trash and brush at the city’s sewer plant on Saturday, Oct. 13.

KWTB volunteers will man the sewer plant on that Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – Noon or until the dumpsters are full to allow residents to dispose of their outsized trash.

The site has been open on Thursday’s from 9:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. but it should close sometime early this month until next spring.

To dispose of items at the sewer plant at 1401 Rabbit Cove Road, people must bring copies of their current water bill and a valid driver’s license. This service is available for residential customers only.

Residents will not be allowed to dump old tires or any hazardous materials such as pesticides, fertilizers, motor oils and similar items.

Residents are being warned that they should be able to get bulky trash from their vehicle or trailer into the dumpster themselves as there is only limited assistance available. Individuals who have a trailer full of trash are being encouraged to bring helpers to assist in disposing of the waste so others are not kept waiting long.
