Former Hunt County Detention Officer arrested for Sexual Assault

Former Hunt County Detention Officer Christopher Thomas Holcombe, 27, of West Tawakoni was taken into custody on Sept. 19 at his residence without incident on four counts of sexual assault.

In Nov. 2017 serious allegations were made against a Detention Officer with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office that were of a criminal and internal nature.  An internal investigation was immediately ordered as well as a criminal investigation.

A family member of former Detention Officer Christopher Thomas Holcombe contacted the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office to file a family violence/sexual assault report.  An internal affairs investigation and criminal investigation was immediately ordered and Mr. Holcombe was placed on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of the investigations.  As a result of the internal investigation Mr. Holcombe was terminated from the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office in Jan. of 2018.

The criminal investigation was presented to the Grand Jury on Sept. 14, which resulted in four sealed indictments being issued for Mr. Holcombe’s arrest.

“Any allegation made against an employee of the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office is taken very seriously and looked into and this was no exception.  I want to thank the investigators that were thorough and diligent in this case and my thoughts and prayers are with the victim,” said Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks.
