2018 Homecoming Court ceremony held during Friday's game

On behalf of the Student Council of Ford High School and the Quinlan Independent School District, under the sponsorship of Ms. Vickie Smith, and despite a week of rain, the Quinlan Ford Homecoming Court ceremony was able to take place on the track this past Friday night in Lytal Field.

Leading off the night and representing the Freshman class was Gabby Miskell. Her father, Oscar Miskell III escorted her on the field. Gabby is a member of FCA, Police Explorers, A-capella choir, and runs in the cross-country team. She plans on becoming triple certified as an EMT, a firefighter and a law enforcement agent.

The Sophomore class is represented by Holly Carter and Shyann Hill. Carter was escorted by her parents, Bryan and Kimberly Carter. Holly is a member of our volleyball and track teams. Her future plans include going to the University of Texas in Arlington where she will study to become a nurse practitioner and in the future hopes to open her own practice. Miss Shyann Hill was escorted by her parents, John and Kara Reid. She is a member of the Health Occupation Student Association-( HOSA) organization, is an officer on the Skills USA team and is a member of our varsity soccer team. Upon graduation from high school, she plans on attending Texas A&M Commerce and getting a certification as a nurse practitioner.

The Junior class representatives were Angel Dijkman, Maddison Holbrook, and Presley Kirkland. Angel Dijkman was escorted by her mother, Susan Dijkman and her grandmother, Pamela Hobbs. Angel is a member of the varsity volleyball team. Her plans include joining the Navy, going to college and becoming a pediatric physical therapist. Maddison Holbrook was escorted by her mother, Juli Harris, and father, Brent Holbrook. Maddison is a member of our dual credit program in conjunction with Paris Junior college. Maddie is an active member of our Theater Arts production group and a member of our GSA club. Her future plans include attending Collin County Community College where she will work on becoming a dental hygienist. Presley Kirkland was escorted by her mother, Tiffany Kirkland. Presley is a member of the varsity volleyball team, on the varsity cheer squad and is an active member of Student Council. She plans on becoming a registered nurse after high school.

The Senior class is represented by Mr. Alexis Aguilar, Miss Megan Borja, Miss Savannah Clark, Mr. Jason Lin, Miss Tori Hobbs, Mr. Colton Sizemore, Miss Sidney Simons, and Mr. Oscar Soto. Mr. Alexis Aguilar was escorted by his mother, Lilia Aguilar. His future plans include attending nursing school to become a nurse practitioner's assistant.

Megan Borja was escorted by her parents Colette and Wilson Borja. Megan is involved with Theatre Arts, is on the Yearbook committee and on the varsity soccer team. She plans on attending college in the future and becoming a kindergarten teacher. Miss Savanna Clark was escorted by her mother, Jessica Clark, and her father, Chance Harry. Savanna is a member of our dual credit program in conjunction with our Paris Junior college program. Savanna is a varsity volleyball player, a member of National Honor Society, a member of the FHS student council, vice-president of the senior class, a member of the yearbook committee and is in the photography club. She has been accepted to Howard Payne University and Abilene Christian College. She plans on getting a master’s degree in law and becoming an attorney. Mr. Jason Lin was being escorted by his sister, Jane Lin. Jason is a dual credit student in conjunction with our Paris Junior College program, plays on the varsity basketball team, is a member of the National Honor Society, and is a student council officer. Jason hopes to attend the University of North Texas and major in engineering. Miss Tori Hobbs was escorted by her mother, Rachel Penney, and her father, Shane Hobbs. Tori is a member of the HOSA program. Tori plans on becoming a pharmacist and wants to find new medicines to cure diseases. Mr. Colton Sizemore was being escorted by his parents Sissy and Shane Sizemore. Colton is very active with the theatre arts production and a member of GSA club. Colton plans on attending the University of Rhode Island where he will major in theatre arts and plans on becoming a director.

Miss Sidney Simons is escorted by her parents John and Lisa Simons. Sidney is very involved in the theatre arts department, was on the drill team for her 9th and 10th grades and is a member of the GSA club. Mr. Oscar Soto was escorted by his sister Ariana Piedra and brother-in-law, Sammy Piedra. Oscar is a running back on the varsity football team. He plans on attending Lincoln Tech and getting certified in HVAC.

The homecoming court was crowned by the 2017 homecoming queen, Ms. Patzi Acosta, and the homecoming Co-presidents, Ms. Sabina Ayala and Mr. Landon Hoff.

The homecoming Countess and Count are Ms. Sidney Simons and Mr. Alexis Alguilar Monroy.

The homecoming Duchess and Duke are Ms. Megan Borja and Mr. Colton Sizemore.

The homecoming Princess and Prince are Ms. Tori Hobbs and Mr. Oscar Soto.

The 2018 homecoming Queen and King are Ms. Savannah Clark and Mr. Jason Lin.

“Once again on behalf of the Student Council of Ford H S and Quinlan ISD, we would like to thank everyone for attending the homecoming festivities and making the week extra special,” said Quinlan ISD Director of School Community Relations Tiffony Upchurch.

FHS Principal coined the term, "We Got This," after all of the rain this past week. "We Got This!"
