Robert Leeds 1944-2018

Robert Lawrence (Larry) Leeds, 74, passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 27, 2018, at his home south of Quinlan.

He leaves two sons, David Ray Robinson of Wilmer and Joshuah Robert Leeds, wife Heidi, and two grandchildren of Moundhouse, Nev.; sisters, Toni Grisham of Mansfield and Geri Graham of Seven Points; brothers, Pat Leeds and wife, Laurie, of Orangevale, Calif., Ted Leeds and wife, Sylvia, of Quinlan, and Pete Leeds and wife, Nancy, of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born and raised in the Dallas area, the son of Carl and Helen (Jones) Leeds, he lived and worked in Texas and Nevada throughout his adult life. He was a Catholic.

He served in the U. S. Navy and worked as a machinist, cook and a union painter. He was an exceptionally skilled carpenter and handyman. After moving to the Quinlan area, he played in pool leagues and enjoyed weekly golf games with his brothers and friends. He was a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge in Nevada.

He was deeply loved and respected by his family and friends. He was always anxious to help anyone who needed it and was generally regarded as a person who “never met a stranger.” He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life in his honor was held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the home of his brother in Quinlan.  Over 50 guests enjoyed good food, fellowship, memories and a balloon send-off.
