fKing Kat Tournament Trail Travels to Lake Tawakoni

Catfish anglers from several states will travel to the Lake Tawakoni at West Tawakoni, TX for a King Kat Tournament Trail event presented by Bass Pro Shops Cabela’s. Local and traveling anglers will be vying for cash, prizes, and an opportunity to compete at the 2019 King Kat Classic which will feature a guaranteed payout of $120,000 in cash and prizes.

Anglers in the Mar. 9, 2019 Event will be testing their catfishing skills against other anglers and whatever Mother Nature has in store. More than 100 anglers from 10 states competed in the 2018 event out of West Tawakoni.

Unsettled March weather often challenges anglers to successfully pattern the fish. But last year Kevin Parks and Ryan Gnagy managed 181.26 pounds to claim the tip spot. The team fished north of the 2-mile bridge. Their winning strategy was pulling planer boards in 20 feet of water using shad for bait.
